Five Players Guaranteed To Be a 2022 NBA All-Star

Every basketball fan worldwide looks forward to the 2022 NBA All-Star Game. The sport’s best players, its elite stars, hit the court in the world’s most exciting exhibition game. The Eastern Conference had 37 wins to the Western Conference’s 29 until the league swapped formats. Now Team LeBron is unbeaten in the last four All-Star games, including beating Team Durant 170-150 in 2021. This blog will tell you Five Players Guaranteed To Be a 2022 NBA All-Star.

The 2022 edition of the NBA All-Star game takes place on February 20, 2022, at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It will be the 71st edition of the event, and while we do not yet know the teams or the rosters, there are five NBA stars that are guaranteed to be part of the action.

Table of Contents

LeBron James – Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James is 100 percent guaranteed for selection if he remains fit. James will be 37-years-old at the 2022 NBA All-Star game, but he shows few signs of slowing down. If selected, which you can bet your bottom dollar he will be, James will be tied with the late Kobe Bryant in second place in the all-time All-Star appearances, and just one behind the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Ferdinand Alcindor Jr.), who has 19 All-Star games to his name.

James is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time. If he is fit, he plays. It is as simple as that.

Kevin Durant – Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant joined the NBA in 2007 after the Seattle Supersonics, now Oklahoma City Thunder drafted him as the second overall pick, and everyone knew he was destined for greatness. He was named NBA Rookie of the Year then and has since been selected for 11 NBA All-Star games. Durant missed the 2021 All-Star game but was selected as captain.

The 33-year-old, now with the Brooklyn Nets, has played 884 regular-season games, averaging 27.0 points per game. Over those 884 games, Durant has a 49.4% field goal and a 38.4% three-point field goal percentage.

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee BucksGiannis Antetokounmpo was first selected as an All-Star in 2017 and has been everpresent since. Antetokounmpo is an incredible player who is loved by the Bucks fans and basketball fans in general.

He was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2019 and 2020, joining LeBron James and Kareen Abdul-Jabbar as the only players in NBA history to win two MVPs before turning 26.

Antetokounmpo is on course to become one of basketball’s greats, if not the greatest. It would not be a true all-star game if Antetokounmpo were not selected.

Stephen Curry – Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry has been the NBA MVP twice (2015 and 2016) and is a seven-time NBA All-Star. The Golden State Warriors point guard is arguably the best shooter to have ever picked up a basketball. Curry has a 47.7% field goal and 43.3% three-point field goal percentage across 762 regular-season games, all for Golden State.

Curry joined Ray Allen and Reggie Miller as the only players to have scored more than 2,500 career three-pointers after putting up 36 points in a 129-128 win over Chicago Bulls in December 2020. Curry currently has 18,434 points for the Golden State Warriors, the most of any player in the franchise’s history.

James Harden – Brooklyn Nets

James Harden has been in the mix during NBA All-Star games from 2013-2021 and is a shoo-in to play in his tenth consecutive match. Harden is a player who has continually improved with each season in the NBA.

His long career with the Houston Rockets ended on January 14, 2021, when he was involved in a four-team deal that included four first-round draft picks and four first-round pick swaps for the Rockets. That’s how highly-rated the Brooklyn Nets value Harden.

He only managed 35 games for the Nets due to a hamstring injury, yet still averaged 24.6 points, 10.9 assists, and 8.5 rebounds.
